Sites for students

Please remember that the internet has a strong capitalist/commercial influence. You will find many sites for kids, since kids often strongly influence what their parents buy. Don't get me wrong, many sites have very altruistic goals and help kids learn and explore the world around us.

Key words: When searching you'll get the best results with the key words kids or children and site. Choosing two of these is sufficient for a general search. You may want to narrow your search with one other word such as science, history, animals, space, etc.

A great site where kids can play and learn.

4Kids

This site has six major categories to choose from, each with several links to subjects of interest to kids and teachers.

Yahooligans!

A great jumping off point for students, the site caters specifically to minors and their interests!

The Yuckiest Site

Another site dedicated to kids, it focuses on the yuck factor of science to keep kids interest. Check it out, you'll like it too!

The Dragonfly Toy Company

A great site to find toys especially designed to meet the needs of your child.

If you're looking for great sites ask fellow teachers. Students may also be good sources but they may give you sites which aren't "educationally" oriented. You can also look for advertisements in kids magazines or on TV Shows.
